Eclipse grew from an exploration of material, contrast, and response. Working on wood panel, layers of collaged papers and acrylic took on qualities quite different from canvas, allowing the surface itself to influence the direction of the painting. Desaturated passages set against more intense color create a sense of tension and interruption, while the layered surface rewards a closer look.

From the Ether explores the interplay between what is revealed and what remains beneath the surface. Handmade tissue collage papers create transparent layers, allowing subtle marks and colors to emerge while adding rich texture and depth. Strong dark forms provide contrast against a quiet palette of soft muted neutrals. Both understated and distinctive, this piece can compliment a variety of interiors.

Moonrise captures the distinctive quality of light along the Maine coast at dusk, when the landscape shifts and the rising moon begins to illuminate the scene. Nearly imperceptible layers of handmade tissue collage soften the richly worked surface, bringing an unexpected lightness to the many layers of paint and texture beneath. Deep, dramatic darks anchor the composition, giving it both depth and luminosity. A rare landscape within my abstract work, Moonrise balances a sense of place with the freedom and spontaneity of abstraction.
