The Way In suggests the quiet discovery that comes from looking beyond first impressions. Layered color, intuitive mark making, and subtle geometric forms create a composition that gradually reveals itself, drawing the viewer through shifting passages of light, texture, and depth. The result is both contemplative and visually engaging, offering something new with each encounter.
This series grew out of an intensive focus centered on experimentation, intuition, and discovery. Working in successive layers of transparent glazes, I explored the possibilities of expressive mark making while allowing color to become an active force in shaping each composition. Rather than working toward a predetermined image, I allowed each painting to evolve through observation, response, and refinement, resulting in compositions that feel both spontaneous and thoughtfully resolved.
